Father Nature has been building outdoor classrooms and fun food-growing areas in local schools and children’s centres around Lambeth and south London since 2011. The positive feedback from kids, parents, and teachers has been overwhelming.
Outdoor Classrooms and Growing Spaces
Father Nature works with schools to create vibrant outdoor classrooms filled with covered learning areas, secret dens, mud kitchens, bug houses, and play equipment made from natural materials. These spaces are perfect for teaching kids about nature, food growing, healthy eating, and sustainability.
Curriculum Integration and Learning Benefits
Our designs keep the national curriculum in mind, providing platforms for teachers to bring subjects like Science, English, Maths, and Design & Technology to life. Outdoor learning improves health and enhances physical, emotional, and social skills.
Community Engagement and Healthy Schools
We engage with the entire school community, including staff, governors, pupils, and parents, to ensure the best design and communal ownership. Our projects support the aims within Healthy Schools, promoting well-being, healthy eating, and a love for gardening.
Professional Support and Training
Father Nature offers ongoing support and training for staff, helping them incorporate outdoor learning into their teaching plans. We also assist with finding funding and grants, organizing planting parties, and setting up school farmer’s markets.
